CSCI101 students:
THE FINAL EXAM
==============
The final exam is a 3 hour written exam.
The final exam is worth 40% of the final
grade.
Students must attain an overall
passing grade on
the weighted average of exams in the
course
in order to obtain a clear pass (C
or better).
The final exam will focus on topics covered
in the
second part of the course (after
midterm), however,
you may be questioned on any of the topics
covered
in the course.
Students may be tested in a quiz or an exam
on the content of team or individual assignments.
The final exam will be composed of a mix of
questions:
Part 1 of the exam is composed of
40 multiple choice and 20 true/false
questions
worth
0.5% each. (30%)
Part 2 of the exam is composed of
10 fill-in-the-blank questions worth 1%
each
and 5 short answer questions
worth 2% each. (20%)
Part 3 of the exam is composed of a number
of
predict-the-output of programs worth
a total of 20%. (20%)
Part 4 of the exam is composed of
three written questions worth 10% each.
(30%)
The written questions may include
essay-type questions,
for example: "Explain the difference
between a cstring and a String object".
The written questions may involve locating
errors
in the code provided, or writing a short
C++ program or function
(note: comments are NOT required in
programs written for an exam,
unless explicitly requested). In the
written questions,
marks will be awarded for partially correct
answers.
GPA
Your attendance and progress will be
monitored throughout this course.
You will receive regular status reports.
Students may also
collect a copy of their current status
report from the Computer Science
office during the instructor's office
hours.
The date of the final exam is shown in the
course schedule.
You should check the College website or
General Office notice board
for any changes.
